Implementation of Time-dependent numerical model for Lemaitre's visco-plastic law in FLAC3D and Lemaitre's visco-plastic law coupled with damage to predict the Excavation Damage Zone for a tunnel in France.
In this project, the 3D modelling of time-dependent behaviour of a monitored tunnel in a remote location in France has been done. From a theoretical point of view, Lemaitre's viscoplastic model was implemented in the FLAC 3D finite-difference numerical code. Particular attention was paid to the stability of the numerical solution for such an explicit mode of resolution. Lemaitre model parameters were successfully fitted on creep tests and then on in situ convergence measurements after a complete numerical simulation.
