Experience
Professor Singh graduated in Mining
Engineering from Banaras Hindu University in
1960. Later on, he received Master in
Engineering Science and Ph.D. degrees from
the University of Melbourne in the year 1968
and 1971, respectively. He had extensive
experience in the Industry with the Turner
and Morrison.
Professor Singh has 45 years of experience
in rock mechanics. He has published more
than 200 papers in different national and
international journals and proceedings of
the seminars and symposia. He was
instrumental in creating 'Creep', Drilling
and Blasting', and 'Equivalent Material
Modeling' Laboratories.
Awards and Achievements
1) Distinguished Alumnus Award of the
Department of Mining Engineering, Banaras
Hindu University (1985)
2) Annual Award of the Indian Society of
Rock Mechanics and Ground Control (1988)
3) Recipient of Honorary Fellowship of
Indian Society for Rock Mechanics and
Tunnelling Technology (ISRMTT), 2002
4) Received the coveted National Mineral
Award from the Government of India for the
year 1996
